Michele Scarr Seduces the East End with the opening of Bordello

In February 2008,  Michele Scarr opened the doors to Bordello, her own private world of the most luxurious lingerie and all things boudoiresque!

With its dark red painted walls, quirky antique furniture and European chandeliers it is the only place out East to indulge in some seductive intimate retail therapy. Inspired by the Burlesque scene, Michele has created a haven that celebrates the glamour of a bygone era, when sensuality and sophistication were de rigour.

Scarr, who began her career in the City, chose Great Eastern Street to open Bordello as there was nowhere to buy seductive lingerie and hosiery. She has selected from some of the best UK brands who produce the most exquisite pieces, whether cute briefs, balcony and push up bras, corsets, negligees and nighties!

Over the last year and a half, Bordello has established itself as a real destination for those seeking fabulous couture lingerie as well as exceptional tailored service. They've launched some amazing new designers, such as fashionista's favourite 'Keira', and their regular siorees are becoming somewhat legendary! For Autumn/Winter 2009 they will be stocking collections from well known labels such as Damaris, Myla, Made By Niki, Mimi Holliday and Lascivious as well as new names and smaller labels such as The Modern Courtesan, Ell and Cee, Buttress and Snatch, Ophelia Fancy and SxxxK.



The most special occasions are catered for! From a first date to Wedding Day and Honeymoon, Bordello has something sexy and seductive. Waspies and leather corsets from Kunza Korstiere and pieces by Velda Lauder Corsetry, including the Dita, designed for Ms Von Teese will see you living out your inner sex bomb! They even have a little something for the boys too with gorgeous silk underwear by Fred & Ginger.

Simple, feminine pretty contemporary underwear, even ranges for expectant mothers from great brands such as Hot Milk and Amoralia sit alongside a few choice vintage pieces such as a 1940’s satin housecoat or ‘30’s crepe de chine teddy and some rather special seamed nylons.
